The Best to Ever Do It

The Patrick Henry High School Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1991 to recognize former Patriot student-athletes who brought honor to the school and themselves during their athletic careers.

Hall of Fame Criteria

The PH Hall of Fame celebrates the rich tradition of Patrick Henry athletics by honoring the players, coaches, and community leaders who have left a lasting impact on our programs. More than a recognition of wins and records, the Hall of Fame preserves the stories of excellence, leadership, and dedication that inspire current and future Patriots. Every three years, inductees are chosen for their outstanding contributions on the field, in the classroom, and throughout the community—ensuring their legacy continues to strengthen the spirit of PH athletics for generations to come.

The Student/Athlete:

• must have been a PH student for a minimum of four semesters.

• will not be considered until he/she has been out of school (graduated) for at least ten years.

• must have represented the school and community in a positive manner during his/her athletic career and must have continued to do so following graduation.

• will be considered for induction primarily for his/her athletic achievements during high school; however, records at the collegiate, professional, and/or other levels may be taken into account.

• must have maintained an academic and student record while at PH that was a credit to the school.

• may have incurred a career-ending injury but had shown the promise of attaining the performances that would merit selection.

• must be a unanimous choice of the Hall of Fame Committee.

At its July 2007 meeting, the Hall of Fame Committee agreed to begin receiving nominations for former Patriot coaches to be considered for induction into the Hall, along with the student athletes. Inductees will be selected on the basis of any or all of the following criteria:

The Coach:

• Has not actively coached a high school sport for the past five years.

• Coached a Patriot team that won a state championship or advanced beyond district competition.

• Must have represented the school and community as a positive role model during his/her coaching career and must have continued to do so after leaving coaching; Guided a Patriot team as a head coach or assistant for a minimum of five years.

Join us October 11th for the 2025 PH Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Charter Hall

The iconic 3rd-floor event space in the Roanoke City Market Building. Steeped in history, the top of the 1885 market building once housed the esteemed Roanoke Opera House, while the 1922 Assembly Hall was a hub for public gatherings. However, limited public access caused the hall to fall into disuse. In 2011, the Market Building underwent a comprehensive renovation, transforming Charter Hall into Roanoke’s premier event space.

About Us

The Patrick Henry Athletic Boosters Association is a volunteer organization that supports extracurricular activities and sports at Patrick Henry High School. We are a dedicated group of parents who strive to support our school's activities and sports by fundraising to provide our students with the necessary equipment and protection. The Roanoke City Public School System budget provides the basic funding for game officials and transportation. There is a large financial gap between the city budget and the needs of our students.

Booster fundraising provides support for our student athletes in the form of technology, meals, equipment, warm-ups, balls, practice equipment, and other supplies necessary for our students to compete and to get opportunities for high school participation, memory-making, developing new friendships, and lessons in teamwork that contribute to success both on and off the field.

Additionally, the PHABA helps organize sports banquets, recognizing our athletes each sports season, and publicizes our students' accomplishments to the community. Our fundraising goals are ambitious, and we rely on the support of every community member. Major fundraising events are seasonal, including Back to School, Holiday Sales, the Spring Golf for Good Tournament, as well as memberships, donations, sponsorships, concessions, spirit wear, and other revenue streams.

The Booster Board - Want to learn how it all works and get involved? Our board meetings are always open. Please attend a meeting to learn about opportunities to contribute to fundraising and recognition events that support our school and students.
