In collaboration with RCPS School Resource Officers (SROs) and the Roanoke Police Department, we will launch PROS (Police Reaching Out Through Sports) this November — a first-of-its-kind mentorship initiative designed to reduce youth truancy through targeted interventions, community engagement, and strong school–community partnerships.

Together, RCPD and WinShares will lead a 32-week initiative delivering access, opportunity, and hope to at-risk youth. The program pairs one-on-one mentoring at Patrick Henry’s Golf Swing Lab and The First Tee of Roanoke Valley with structured take-home assignments, reinforcing lessons, and maximizing the impact of in-person instruction.

About Us

The Patrick Henry Athletic Boosters Association is a volunteer organization that supports extracurricular activities and sports at Patrick Henry High School. We are a dedicated group of parents who strive to support our school's activities and sports by fundraising to provide our students with the necessary equipment and protection. The Roanoke City Public School System budget provides the basic funding for game officials and transportation. There is a large financial gap between the city budget and the needs of our students.

Booster fundraising provides support for our student athletes in the form of technology, meals, equipment, warm-ups, balls, practice equipment, and other supplies necessary for our students to compete and to get opportunities for high school participation, memory-making, developing new friendships, and lessons in teamwork that contribute to success both on and off the field.

Additionally, the PHABA helps organize sports banquets, recognizing our athletes each sports season, and publicizes our students' accomplishments to the community. Our fundraising goals are ambitious, and we rely on the support of every community member. Major fundraising events are seasonal, including Back to School, Holiday Sales, the Spring Golf for Good Tournament, as well as memberships, donations, sponsorships, concessions, spirit wear, and other revenue streams.

The Booster Board - Want to learn how it all works and get involved? Our board meetings are always open. Please attend a meeting to learn about opportunities to contribute to fundraising and recognition events that support our school and students.
